Rehabilitative Care for Children with Severe Disabilities
Avraham Asher Avi-hai z”l
Dear Keren Hayesod leadership and worldwide family,
It is with deep sorrow that we share the sad news of the passing of former World Chairman of Keren Hayesod, Dr. Avraham Avi-Hai z”l.
Dr. Avraham Avi-Hai z”l served as Keren Hayesod’s World Chairman from 1978 through 1988 and spent his entire life in service of the Jewish people and the state of Israel.
He was a leader, a journalist and an author.
The Keren Hayesod’s Avi-Hai Award was initiated in his honor in 1989.
His life story was interwoven into the history of Keren Hayesod and the state of Israel, as he served as a top-level civil servant in the offices of Israel’s first prime minister, David Ben Gurion and Levi Eshkol, and as an advisor to the legendary mayor of Jerusalem, Teddy Kollek.
We convey our deepest condolences to his entire family.
May they be comforted amongst the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
