Aliyah & Absorption

Helping new immigrants make Israel their home

Aliyah Project
Aliyah

Since Israel was established, Keren Hayesod, together with the Jewish Agency and the Government of Israel, has assisted more than three million Jews to immigrate to Israel. Israel’s future depends on the continuation of aliyah and it is a national priority to bring any Jew, from anywhere in the world, to Israel. Rising anti-Semitism has increased the demand for aliyah, and we are expanding our global infrastructure to meet the need.

Absorption

Many new immigrants begin their new lives in absorption centres or kibbutz ulpans. There, they enjoy the support services that help ease their transition and promote their full participation in Israeli society. New immigrants benefit from intensive Hebrew language courses, Jewish and Israeli holiday celebrations, trips around the country, career guidance, and access to information about educational opportunities.

The Global Service Centre

The Global Service Center’s Aliyah and Israel Experience Hotline is a resource available to current and potential new immigrants. The hotline provides vital information on the Jewish Agency’s Israel and Diaspora programs and services. The Global Service Center serves as a resource for all, from those considering short-term Israel experiences or extended visits, to those seeking hospitality and to those considering aliyah. The Global Service Center operates 24 hours a day, six days a week. Representatives are available to respond to callers in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, and Hebrew.

Be Part of the Journey!

Every donation to Keren Hayesod helps to strengthen the people of Israel. A new immigrant from the Former Soviet Union will benefit from US$5,000 to help them prepare for aliyah, fund a flight to Israel and help them in their initial stay at an absorption centre. Donations of all amounts are welcome towards helping new immigrants through Keren Hayesod.
