Rehabilitative Care for Children with Severe Disabilities
Meet Natan Lekau, a 22-year-old residing in Migdal Ha’Emek, leading both boys’ and girls’ teams in his town.
His coaching role is part of the esteemed Youth Futures Football Club, where he continues to inspire and empower children in his community.
From a young age, Natan’s passion for soccer ignited his spirit, and his current position as a senior team member of Hapoel Migdal HaEmek is a testament to his dedication and skill.
However, his path wasn’t always smooth. Reflecting on his childhood, he recalls being a “hyperactive and restless child, struggling to find focus in class and getting in trouble.”
It was during third grade that Natan joined the Youth Futures program at school, which turned his life around.
With the guidance of his Mentor, he experienced remarkable personal growth and academic improvement.
Youth Futures instilled in him a newfound respect for his teachers and the aspiration to succeed.
Natan’s personal experience as a program graduate, coupled with his younger brother’s current involvement in Youth Futures, makes him uniquely aware of the challenges these children face.
Natan’s passion for working with children and honing their skills as a coach is truly palpable.
Every day, he is filled with excitement at the prospect of connecting with the children and sharing their journeys.
As Natan puts it, “Everyone comes with a different background, and you have to treat everyone sensitively.
Each child is a world in its own right, and this greatly satisfies and empowers me to be their role model.”
Natan’s story serves as a heartwarming reminder that with the right support and guidance, dreams can be realized, and lives can be transformed.
Through his coaching, Natan is making a profound impact on the lives of these children, providing them with hope, guidance, and the opportunity to thrive.
The Youth Futures Football Club operates across eight towns in Israel, including Migdal Haemek, Yokneam, Nof HaGilil, Matte Asher, Beit Shean, Acre, Nahariya, and Lod.
