Gil Segal serves as Vice Chairman of the World Zionist Organization and Chairman of the Department for Israel and Holocaust Commemoration worldwide.
Gil returned to his position after serving as the CEO of the Knesset between 2021-2023.
Up until 2021, as a part of his public duties, Gil served as a member of the presidency of the Central Election Committee, as a member of the management of the World Zionist Organization, a member of the Board of Directors of the Finance Committee and the management of Keren Hayesod at the National Institutions. Gil is also a member of the management of the World Jewish Congress, WJC, a member of the Executive Committee of the “Raim” organization – the society for Jewish Communities, and serves as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Zionist Council in Israel.
Gil is a graduate of the IDF Command College and has a Master’s degree in Administration and Public Policy as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in the history of the Land of Israel, both from Bar-Ilan University. He served in the Israeli Air Force for many years and was discharged with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Between 2007-2011 he went on a state mission to the USA on behalf of the IDF.
As part of his military service, Gil served, among other things, as Head of a senior branch at the Air Force headquarters, as a Commander of a central operational unit, and as an Intelligence Officer in the Cooperation Unit. He held a variety of positions ranging from mandatory service to major positions in the Air Force and headquarters positions and service in operational squadrons.
In 2013, he was appointed CEO of the Yesh Atid party led by Yair Lapid, and held this position until 2020. Between 2011-2013 he served as Vice President of Business Development at the high-tech company VISIONMAP.
Gil Segal lives in Kfar Saba, is married and has 3 sons.
